The circus is trying to provide an information forum for communicating between mathematicians working on computational differential equations. The success has been demonstrated by the last 5 annual meetings -- 1996 at KTH in Stockholm; 1997 at the University of Oslo; 1998 at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg; 1999 at Helsinki University of Technology in Finland; and 2000 at University of Bergen.
The organizing committee of the meesting consists of Claes Johnson, Juhani Pitkäranta, Anders Szepessy, and Ragnar Winther. Rolf Stenberg (rolf.stenberg@tut.fi) is taking care of the local organizing at Tampere University of Technology. We would like to welcome you to Tampere (Tammerfors).
As was indicated for the earlier meetings of this series, the form of our meeting is inspired by Babuska's finite element circus: everyone is welcome, nobody is invited or we can also say that all of you are invited. This means that everybody have the chance to talk. The meeting will start with a short session where the participants indicate if they will talk or not. The program will then be determined by dividing the available time with the number of speakers. If you plan to participate in the meeting, we would appreciate that you inform us on email (rolf.stenberg@tut.fi). We will keep a list of particants on the web.
