ICT and mathematics
ICT and mathematics"ICT" and mathematics" is a collaboration over four years, (2004-2007), between the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the ICT departments at the Faculty of computer science, mathematics and electronics (IME). This project is funded by NTNU, by the IME-faculty and by the departments participating in the project.The project is a strategic initiative resulting form the evaluation of the fields of ICT and mathematics by the Research Council of Norway (NFR) and of the NFR-report "Basic Research in the Interface between Mathematics and Information and Communication Technology". The main objective is to strengthen and promote theoretical research in ICT at the IME faculty by increasing the scientific collaboration with the Department of Mathematical Sciences. The core of the project is PhD training with shared supervision between ICT-researchers and mathematicians. The activities of ICT and mathematics are coordinated by the board of the project. |
