Master of Science in Mathematics for international students

The Department of Mathematical Sciences started the master of science degree for international students in 1997. This master's program in mathematical sciences offers five directions of study: algebra, analysis, numerics, statistics, and topology. For further information about these research groups see the homepages of the research groups of

Numerical analysis and statistics are recent additions to the program.

The master of science degree is a two year program, where approximately one and a half year is spent on course work and the last half year is devoted to writing a master thesis. For further and more detailed information about the program see the Study plan for the international master degree in mathematics.

In addition to students coming on their own funds, students can be admitted to the program through the Quota program (see the homepage of Office of International Relations for further information).

Applications for this program is filed through the Office of International Relations. Application forms are available electronically. For further information and requirements see the homepage of the Office of International Relations.

The contact person for this program is Øyvind Solberg for the spring of 2008 (Magnus B. Landstad from autumn on).
