Abstract: Om f:M --> N er en isometrisk immersjon vil f tilfredstille likningene til Gauss, Codazzi og Ricci. Foreløpig plan: Jeg vil gi en kort intro til disse og anvendelser for å approksimere minste kodimensjon til (lokal) isometrisk embedding av noen symmetriske rom inn i Euklidsk rom.

Tore August Kro:  Model structures on operads in orthogonal spectra

Abstract: We generalize Berger and Moerdijk's results on axiomatic homotopy theory for operads to the setting of enriched symmetric monoidal model categories, and show how this theory applies to orthogonal spectra. In particular, we provide a symmetric fibrant replacement functor for the positive stable model structure.

Eldar Straume:  Equivariant Riemannian geometry and the 3-body problem

Abstract: According to Jacobi's reformulation of Lagrange's least action principle, 3-body motions can be characterized as geodesics in the configuration space M, equipped with the conformal modification of the kinematic metric by a factor of U+h, where U is the potential function and h is a fixed total energy.There is a natural isometric SO(3)-action on M, and the equivariant Riemannian geometry of (SO(3),M) is a natural framework for an in depth analysis of the interplay between the symmetry and the least action principle that Nature endows to the 3-body problem.

Halvard Fausk:  Oversiktsforelesning om Burnsideringen av kompakte Lie grupper

Abstract: Vi skal definere og se på noen egenskaper til Burnside ringen av kompakte Lie grupper. Burnside ringen til en endelig gruppe G er Grothendieck konstruksjonen til semiringen av isomorfiklasser av endelige G-mengder. Vi legger vekt på å gjøre generaliseringen av Burnsideringen fra endelige grupper til Lie grupper elementær.

Abstract: Delignes conjecture says: The Hochschild complex of an associative algebra is naturally an algebra over a chain model of the little disks operad. I will explain this conjecture, and outline the details of McClure and Smiths proof.
