Uncertainty in Reservoir Evaluation (URE)

Vision

  • Provide creative mathematically based solutions to recognized challenges in reservoir evaluation.
  • Develop methodologies for analysis of spatial and spatio-temporal phenomena.

Objectives

Identify, develop and evaluate mathematically and physically based models for assessment of uncertainties in reservoir evaluation, and distribute information and provide training about these models through education, publishing and seminars.

The activity in the programme is inspired by the problem complexes:

  • Assessment of seismic velocities from seismic data.
  • Lithology, fracture and fluid inversion from well and seismic data.
  • Fluid monitoring from time-lapse seismic and production data.

Prediction of gas and oil. Within the red and green volumes the probabilities are above 0.5 for sand with gas or sand with oil, respectively.
