Mathematical Miscellany

To a certain extent all of my hints, hacks, and howtos have the purpose of helping me do my job better and since I am a mathematician, this means that they are all related to mathematics. However, some of those relationships are tenuous, to say the least! This section is for those hints, hacks, and howtos where the relationship to mathematics is closer than to the relationship to some tool that helps me do my job. These hints, hacks, and howtos will not be mathematical in themselves: the purpose is still that of getting my computer (and, by extension, the internet) to do what I want it to.
