The scope of this preprint server is papers on new and recent results concerning conservation laws (in the sense of partial differential equations on conservation form) and related equations. The main focus is on mathematical analysis and numerical methods, but papers concerning applications are also welcome, as are papers on commonly used tools in the field. Please help improve the quality of this service by submitting relevant preprints. Thank you!

The preprint server is shutting down. Starting January 1, 2017, we will no longer accept new submissions. Authors will still be welcome to submit revisions to papers already published. The contents will remain available for the foreseeable future. It has been a good 21 years, but it is time to admit that most people prefer to put their papers on arXiv instead. We urge you to do the same.

We maintain an Atom feed containing the most recent couple of dozen abstracts at any time. This is the most convenient way to learn about new papers, at least if you already use other RSS or Atom feeds. Please let us know if the feed gives you any trouble.

It should be noted that the Conservation Laws Preprint Server essentially has no editorial policy, and that the administrators rely upon contributors to offer appropriate papers. It is entirely the contributors responsibility to ensure that submitted papers are essentially correct, and that acceptable academic practice is followed at all times. However, we reserve the right to reject papers that clearly fall outside the scope of the server as stated above. All opinions and ideas expressed in the papers included on the Conservation Laws Preprint Server are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the ideas or beliefs of the administrators nor of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
