28.11: Office hour on Monday December 1 has upon request been moved to 2-3pm.
05.11: I finished Ch 10 today. No lectures on 11 and 12 November.Next week will be self study. I gave an exercise project today(given below) which will be part of the curriculum. On 18 and 19 November Finn Knudsen will offer you a guided tour through these exercises.Since they are part of the exam material,no further help will be given. I'll be available for questions from the lectures on 1 December in my office 1-2 pm. Final exam is on 3 December,all meeting at 9am in room 734 SII. The Exercise project consists of the following exercises in M&T: Ch2:4,5,6,7,9,11,12 Ch3:1,2,3 Ch7:2 Ch9:12,14 Ch10:6,7,8,11,12 Final curriculum:M&T:Ch 1-10 + Exercise project. 14.10: Update:I have now defined deRham cohomology for smooth manifolds and continuing with Riemannian structures - Ch 9 in MT. 24.09: The final exam will be oral, and take place on 3 December. 24.09: I have decided to use the following book as a textbook for the course: I.Madsen&J.Tornehave:From Calculus to Cohomology,CUP,1999. It replaces Spivak's book which still may be used as a supplementary book. I'll cover ch 1-10,plus possibly some extra stuff. The final curriculum will be announced at the end of the course. At the moment I am lecturing from ch 4.
