MA3402 Analysis on Manifolds

Messages: 18.11: As announced the final exam takes place on Monday 30 November and Tuesday 1 December according to the schedule you have received in the mail. Final curriculum is: Ch 1- 10 in Madsen and Tornehave and the Exercises given in the course(found on this page).

26.10: Final excercises: 9.12,9.14 10.6,10.7,10.8,10.11,10.12.

19.10: Update: As an introduction to Ch 9 I have been discussing various ways of defining tangentvectors to a manifold,tangentbundle and cotangentbundle.We have today defined arbitrary forms on a manifold. Last week I discussed knot theory in the form of Problem 7.2. Final exam will take place on 30 Nov and 1 Dec. 5 candidates each day. There will be no lectures on 2&3 Nov.This week will be self-study.More about that in next week lectures.

15.09: I'll be away next week.Finn Knudsen will take care of the lectures and basically lead you through the following important exercises: 2.9, 2.11, 3.2, 3.3. I'll start on Ch 5 on 28 September.

09.09: Important exercises for next week: 2.4,2.5,2.6,2.7,2.9,2.11,2.12. These require serious work! Some of these exercises may be part of the final curriculum.

19.08: NB!Change of schedule. Starting next week, Monday 24 August the lectures will take place as follows: Mon 15.15 - 17.00 in room 734 SII Tue 8.15 - 10.00 in F4
