Gas Dynamics (Euler Equations)

Here we present simulations for the Euler equations of gas dynamics in two spatial dimensions. The numerical method is dimensional splitting with one-dimensional front tracking in each spatial direction.

One level of adaptive grid refinement is included in some of the examples.

A cylindrical explosion problem

A Mach 3 wind tunnel with a step

Double Mach reflections of a strong shock

An explosion problem inside a box

Flow past cylinders (one, two or three)

A shock-bubble interaction

An explosion problem inside a tube

Simulations are sometimes fun!
