Hyperbolicity and Kinematic Waves of a Class of Multi-Population Partial Differential Equations

Abstract: In this paper we study the fundamental mathematical aspects of a class of multi-population partial differential equations. We thoroughly discuss the hyperbolicity of the system. The admissible waves of the Riemann problem are also investigated in detail. We present some interesting results and interpret their physical meanings. Numerical examples are also given to support our conclusions.
